Job summary

Vanderbilt University Medical Center's Trauma Stepdown unit seeks a Clinical Staff Leader to supervise a night-shift nursing cohort, guide clinical practice, and partner with unit leaders to improve quality, throughput and staff development. The role drives performance, coaching, and accountability for outcomes.

The CSL develops standards for patient care, coordinates staff education on clinical practice, and ensures assignments match patient needs and staff competencies.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of RN experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field.
• State or Compact RN license with TN address within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise and support a cohort of night shift nurses.
• Define standards for quality patient care and lead education.
• Develop, manage and evaluate unit performance with strategic alignment.
• Coordinate staffing, scheduling and project timelines for outcomes.
