Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a Trauma Registrar to collect, abstract, and validate data for the trauma center and state/national databases. The role emphasizes ICD-10 coding, anatomy basics, and timely registry submissions in line with ACS and PTOS standards.

The Trauma Registrar collaborates with physicians, nurses, and the trauma team to ensure high-quality data, supports performance improvement, and reports data for research and internal use.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor degree in a health information field or related.
• Experience in trauma registry or data abstraction preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 injury coding and basic anatomy.

Responsibilities

• Collect and abstract demographics and clinical data into the trauma registry.
• Interacts with physicians, nurses and trauma team for data capture.
• Maintain registry completeness per ACS/PTSF timeframes.
• Validate data mapping for TQIP/NTDB and state programs.
• Produce data extracts and reports in Excel/PowerPoint as needed.
