Job summary

Qualifications

• Successful completion of Anatomy and Physiology coursework.
• Completion of CSTR/CAISS Certification.
• Medical terminology coursework completed.
• AAAM's Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) course completed or within 1 year of hire.
• Trauma Registry Course completed within 1 year of hire.
• ICD-10 coding course or refresher within 1 year of hire.
• 3 years of current work experience in an acute-care hospital with medical terminology exposure.
• 1 year experience coding ICD-10-CM injuries in an Acute Care Hospital.
• 1 year experience coding ICD-10-PCS in an Acute Care Hospital.
• 1 year experience with EPIC Health Record System.
• 3 years of professional experience with data entry and word processing (Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Abstract and code clinical and demographic data from patient records for injury severity and procedures.
• Enter data into the trauma registry and maintain accuracy and ethics.
• Produce statistical reports from the trauma registry as requested.
• Collaborate with the team and work independently when needed.
