Qualifications

  • 1 year experience coding ICD-10-CM injuries and mechanisms in an acute care hospital.
  • 1 year experience coding ICD-10-PCS in an acute care hospital.
  • 1 year of EPIC Health Record System experience in an acute care hospital.
  • 3 years of data entry and word processing experience (Word/Excel).

Responsibilities

  • Abstract clinical and demographic data from patient records for injury severity and procedures.
  • Code data for injury severity and procedures in the trauma registry.
  • Review records ethically and enter data into the trauma registry.
  • Provide statistical reports from the trauma registry as requested.
