Job Description

The Trauma Registrar is a member of the Trauma Services department of an American College of Surgeons verified Trauma Center. Responsibilities include data abstraction, data entry, injury identification, ICD-10 and AIS coding and scoring, and validation for accuracy of trauma patients from Mount Carmel Health System facilities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of a minimum of a two-year college program preferred or related program certificate courses or applicable experience.
• Licensure / Certification: Obtain and maintain a trauma-specific or HIM certification within three (3) years of hire, such as CAISS, CSTR, RHIT, RHIA, CPC, or related.
• Experience: Previous trauma registry experience preferred.
• ICD 10 CM/PCS coding experience preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office 365 and computer data entry required.
• Knowledge of medical record procedures, medical terminology, and basic anatomy required.
• This is a remote opportunity, but candidates must have trauma registry or related internship experience.
