Job summary

Harborview Medical Center is seeking a Trauma Care Nurse Coordinator (RN) to support the continuum of trauma patient care and act as a clinical resource for evidence-based practices. This 100% FTE, on-site role collaborates with inpatient trauma clinicians, the Trauma Registry, and the Quality Improvement team to monitor care and identify opportunities to improve outcomes.

The ideal candidate has five or more years of nursing experience in trauma or related specialties, with an RN license in WA.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current or eligible Washington State RN license.
• Five or more years of professional nursing experience, preferably in trauma, general surgery, critical/acute care, or emergency services.

Responsibilities

• Support the continuum of trauma patient care as a clinical resource and advocate for evidence-based trauma practice guidelines, protocols, and standards of care.
• Collaborate with inpatient trauma clinicians, Trauma Registry, and Quality Improvement team to monitor care and identify opportunities to improve quality and outcomes.
• Conduct concurrent patient monitoring and chart review to identify gaps in care and opportunities for improvement.
• Coordinate care and implement corrective measures to support patients along care pathways and ensure timely communication of outcomes.
• Perform patient data abstraction and entry into the Trauma Registry and contribute to QA and process improvement initiatives.
• Work within a multidisciplinary trauma care team to promote high-quality patient outcomes.
