Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Trauma Performance Improvement (PI) Nurse to coordinate the PIPS program for trauma and burn patients. You will lead event identification, audit filtering, and multidisciplinary reviews to drive loop closure and evidence of sustained improvement in line with ACS and ABA standards.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure.
• 5 years of trauma, emergency, critical care, or burn care experience.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the Trauma Performance Improvement and Patient Safety (PIPS) program for trauma and burn patient populations.
• Organize and facilitate multidisciplinary reviews with case identification, preparation, tracking, and follow-up.
• Collaborate with Trauma Program leadership, Trauma Medical Director, Burn Medical Director and teams to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Identify PI events from registries, audit filters, incident reports, peer review, and referrals.
• Develop corrective actions and monitor loop closure and sustained improvement.
• Prepare for site visits, PRQ submissions, and internal/external audits.
