Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare is seeking an RN Trauma Performance Improvement (PI) Coordinator to lead the Trauma Program’s work ensuring safe, high-quality care from patient arrival to discharge. You will review cases with the Trauma Medical Director and PI Director, analyze performance, and implement changes to meet ACS standards and center verification requirements.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to present trends, educate staff, and drive measurable improvements across the trauma

Qualifications

• RN with Associate Degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3 years of ED experience required.
• PALS and TNCC certifications must be obtained within 18 months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze trauma cases in real time and retrospectively to assess quality and adherence to guidelines.
• Identify and validate performance-improvement opportunities and drive closed-loop improvements.
• Coordinate and document Trauma PI activities, events, data elements, and registry information.
• Prepare and present selected cases, trends, and quality findings for PI and trauma operations meetings.
• Educate and support clinical teams, EMS, and facilities on trauma PI principles and best practices.
• Collaborate on guideline development, research, verification preparation, and ongoing improvements across trauma services.
