Job summary

Urban Peak in Denver seeks a Minor Shelter Life Skills Manager to supervise youth ages 12-17 in the minor shelter program. You will oversee intake, assessments, crisis support, and data documentation while coordinating with the Minor Shelter Case Manager and families when applicable.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed care and safety for youth and staff, with a focus on rapid placement planning within 21 days of entry and collaboration across shelter teams.

Qualifications

• Requires 2 years of college or a HS diploma with 6+ years in human services or direct homeless youth experience.

Responsibilities

• Documentation of admission records and services provided to clients.
• Maintain accurate client data and logs.
• Communicate effectively with staff about clients.
• Ensure confidentiality and safe storage of client information.
• Complete intakes and assess level of need for youth involvement.
• Establish plans with youth and make referrals.
• Provide milieu supervision and ensure shelter safety.
• Guide youth in daily chores and shelter activities.
• Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed.
• Support case management through meetings and collaborations.
