YWCA Evanston/North Shore seeks a Residential and Crisis Support Specialist to help maintain a safe, trauma-informed shelter environment and support 24/7 crisis line operations in Evanston, IL. Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience working with people in crisis or domestic violence.
• Illinois 40-Hour Domestic Violence Training within 60 days of employment.
• First Aid/CPR within 6 months of employment.
• ServSafe Manager Certification within 30 days of hire.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Fluency in Spanish or other languages preferred.
• Experience in residential settings and crisis intervention.

Responsibilities

• Residential Support: welcome residents, guide intake, provide trauma-informed care, refer to resources, manage supplies, assist with conflicts, assess safety, and support 24/7 coverage.
• Crisis Line: respond to the 24-hour line, provide crisis intervention, safety planning, emotional support, and document calls.
• Record Keeping: accurate documentation in Salesforce and timely reporting.
• Facility Support: maintain a clean, safe environment and assist with kitchen and supply management.
• Additional Duties: trainings, committee participation, and adherence to policies.
