Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington is seeking a Shelter Monitor to support clients in its Housing and Homeless Services facilities. You will monitor daily shelter activities, enforce rules, conduct bed checks, and complete intake processes, ensuring a safe, trauma-informed environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Six months experience in human services or customer service, preferably with persons who have experienced homelessness.

Responsibilities

• Perform bed check-in and intake for all clients during overnight/evening shifts.
• Perform hourly facility rounds and log entries per protocol.
• Provide urgent reports to supervisor for safety concerns.
• Maintain communication with on-site staff to ensure safety of clients and staff.
• Provide crisis intervention including de-escalation, CPR/first aid, and NARCAN as appropriate.
