Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington is seeking a Shelter Monitor to support clients in shelter facilities within the Housing and Homeless Services department. You will monitor daily activities, enforce rules, perform bed check-ins, and manage intake processes with a trauma-informed, housing-first approach.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least six months of human services or customer service experience, preferably with homelessness-related clients.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Six months experience in the human service or customer service field, preferably with persons who have experienced homelessness.

Responsabilités

• Perform overnight bed check-in and intake for all clients and provide referrals as needed.
• Conduct hourly facility rounds and log entries via computer systems.
• Provide urgent reports to supervisor for emergencies related to clients, staff, or facility safety.
• Maintain communication with on-site staff, supervisor, janitorial, and security to ensure safety.
• Provide crisis intervention including de-escalation, CPR/first aid as needed, and documentation of incidents.
