Job summary

The Women's Home in Houston, TX is seeking a Residential Mentor PRN to support residents in a trauma-informed, empowering environment. You will collaborate with staff to foster dignity and safety while meeting housing needs and upholding program policies.

This on-site role requires flexible availability for day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts. A valid Texas driver’s license and a willingness to assist residents are essential to success in this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field is required.
• Valid Texas driver’s license with clean record.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Experience with substance abuse, mental health, or homelessness is a plus.

Responsibilities

• General management of the residence during shift, enforcing policies and maintaining safety and confidentiality.
• Maintain constant resident interaction and provide empathetic support.
• Oversee meal preparation, supply security, and kitchen safety.
• Coordinate evening activities and assist with client awards ceremonies.
• Administer drug tests and perform room searches as required.
• Manage transportation for residents and assist with emergencies as needed.
• Participate in monthly staff meetings and support coverage for shifts/locations.
