Job summary

Promise Resource Network is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to provide trauma-informed, person-centered peer support at the Recovery Hub and Recovery Café. The role includes facilitating groups, assisting with café operations, and guiding guests toward recovery resources within a harm-reduction framework.

Ideal candidates have lived recovery experience and are committed to equity, inclusive services, and community wellness.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and engage guests at the Recovery Café in a trauma-informed, non-judgmental manner.
• Facilitate or co-facilitate recovery circles, peer groups, or wellness activities.
• Assist with Café operations including setup, cleanliness, and tracking member participation.
• Provide support to guests navigating recovery resources, including emotional support and goal-setting.
• Promote the Recovery Café model principles: radical hospitality, loving accountability, and community healing.
• Support individuals who use substances with harm-reduction, non-coercive care.
• Distribute harm-reduction supplies and educate on safe use practices.
• Link guests to detox, MAT, syringe services, housing, or mental health resources.
• Engage in outreach and education to reduce stigma around substance use and mental health.
• Track and report supply usage and engagement data as required.
• Build authentic relationships based on shared experience, empathy, and respect.
• Provide one-on-one peer support focused on recovery goals and navigating systems.
