Job summary

Heartland Alliance International is expanding the Marjorie Kovler Center into New York City. The Sr.

Operations Manager will oversee day-to-day operations, facilities, procurement, HR support, and program administration to enable trauma-informed, survivor-centered services. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 5 years of operations experience in nonprofits, with a preference for bilingual candidates and experience in human services or immigrant/refugee support

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, nonprofit management, social work, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations, program administration, or nonprofit management.
• Bilingual proficiency in a language other than English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the MKC-New York, including facilities coordination, scheduling maintenance and repairs, vendor management, and administrative systems.
• Manage inventory and procurement of supplies and equipment, ensuring cost-effective and timely purchasing.
• Maintain compliance with procurement policies by securing competitive quotes and preparing necessary documentation for purchases and services exceeding $10,000.
• Assist with onboarding of new staff, interns, and volunteers, including workspace setup.
• Provide HR-specific operational support for HAI including end-to-end employee lifecycle processes, procedures, and communications.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to operational processes, HR support, compliance, and program activities.
• Collaborate with program leadership and finance to develop budgets and ensure adherence to regulations and internal controls.
