Job summary

The Social Worker (MSW) position at RWJBarnabas Health's New Brunswick facility is a full-time, day-shift role within the VOCA Grant department. You will work with a multidisciplinary HVIP team to provide trauma-informed case management and therapy to frontline staff and patients.

Qualifications include an MSW, LSW eligibility for supervision, and preferably an NJ LCSW. At least one year of trauma-focused or community-based social work with marginalized populations is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW).
• LSW license eligible for clinical supervision.
• 1 year community-based or trauma social work experience.
• Experience with marginalized and vulnerable populations.

Responsibilities

• Carry a caseload of 3–5 HVIP clients and provide short-term trauma-informed therapy or case management.
• Support Violence Intervention staff to prevent vicarious trauma and promote self-care.
• Collaborate with Program Coordinator and Violence Intervention Specialists to work with patients/clients.
• Provide support and accompaniment for VIS staff during crises or acute events.
• Assist with documenting patient interactions and resources in program software.
• Educate HVIP staff on trauma-informed care and best practices for engagement.
