Job summary

Indiana University Health System's Riley Hospital is seeking a Social Worker – MSW, LCSW, HVIP Mental Health Provider to support violently injured patients through hospital-linked and community-based services. The role emphasizes trauma-informed, evidence-based care including CBT, trauma-focused CBT, EMDR, and aggression replacement therapy, within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• MSW required with permanent LCSW licensure in Indiana.
• 3–5 years healthcare or community-based experience.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention or equivalent de-escalation training within 6 months of hire.
• Experience with evidence-based psychosocial assessment and crisis intervention.
• Knowledge of complex discharge planning and protective services.

Responsibilities

• Meet face-to-face with patients and families, assessing mental health and developing treatment plans.
• Deliver therapeutic interventions and evidence-based therapies (CBT, trauma-focused CBT, EMDR, APRT).
• Assess psychosocial risk factors, support systems, and coping abilities.
• Coordinate with protective services for abuse/neglect cases.
• Maintain crisis intervention and de-escalation to manage acute crises.
• Provide crisis intervention, addiction assessments, and psychiatric referrals as needed.
• Document clinical activities in electronic medical records and participate in on-call rotations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with hospital staff, law enforcement, APS/DCS, and community partners.
