Job summary

The CARE Center in Redding, CA, part-time Intake Coordinator/Safety Navigator supports urgent mental health services at a walk‑in clinic open 365 days a year from 12pm to 9pm. You welcome visitors, assess urgent needs, and guide them through the intake process, coordinating with therapists and case managers.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of direct customer service/administrative experience.
• Experience working with vulnerable populations is strongly preferred.
• Ability to de-escalate high-risk situations effectively.
• Some college coursework in social work, psychology, sociology, or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients, screen for urgent needs, and guide through intake and referrals.
• Maintain a calm, compassionate environment and support staff during visits.
• Enter intake information into the electronic health record and coordinate with CARE Center staff.
• Monitor safety, assist with crisis de-escalation, and ensure confidentiality.
