Job summary

IDAS in Scarborough is seeking a Domestic Abuse Practitioner - Housing to provide trauma-informed support to victims housed in emergency accommodation and partner with housing teams to secure safe housing. You will manage a small caseload and assist clients with housing, benefits and legal protections.

You will coordinate referrals to specialist services and engage with MARAC/MAPPA processes, upholding safeguarding and equality across services.

Qualifications

• Experience providing trauma-informed support to victims of domestic abuse.
• Ability to work with housing teams and partner agencies to secure safe housing.
• Experience advising on housing, benefits, and legal protections for clients fleeing abuse.
• Ability to manage a small caseload and ensure smooth transitions to longer-term support.
• Experience contributing to multi-agency processes (MARAC/MATAC/MAPPA) and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed support and safety planning to victims in emergency accommodation.
• Collaborate with housing teams and agencies to secure safe housing and advocate for clients.
• Advise on housing, benefits, and legal protections, including referrals to specialist services.
• Manage a small caseload and coordinate transitions to community support.
• Liaise with multi-agency partners and contribute to MARAC, MATAC, MAPPA processes to manage risk.
• Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion by ensuring services are accessible to all communities.
