Job summary

Sefton@Work invites applications for an Adult Domestic Abuse Caseworker to provide direct support to victims and survivors. You will operate a helpline, conduct needs and risk assessments, and develop person-centred safety plans within a trauma-informed, confidential framework.

This 35-hour-per-week role involves multi-agency collaboration, reporting, and occasional evenings/weekends. A relevant qualification and experience in domestic abuse or related fields are required, with DBS clearance

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification or training in domestic abuse, criminal justice, law, social work, child development, substance misuse or a related field.
• Thorough understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on victims, survivors and communities.
• Sound knowledge of safeguarding legislation and practice.

Responsibilities

• Operate a helpline service for victims/survivors, professionals and the wider community.
• Complete needs assessments, risk assessments and safety plans at the first point of contact.
• Manage allocated cases, providing person-centred advice and support to help service users achieve their personal goals.
• Encourage victims and survivors to access support through proactive engagement, rapport building and assessment.
• Attend multi-agency and partnership meetings as required.
• Provide guidance and advice to statutory and partner agencies within the scope of the role.
• Advocate on behalf of service users to help reduce barriers to support and protection using a trauma-informed approach.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on internal case management systems and local authority systems.
