Job summary

The East of England Community Health & Care NHS Trust is seeking a Domestic Abuse Safety Officer in Cambridgeshire to work within Interventions Teams, providing bespoke support to clients who meet the DASO criteria.

Using trauma-informed practice, you will contribute to risk assessment, safety planning, and liaison with Probation and other agencies to protect victims and their children, while maintaining confidential, victim-centred service delivery.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of domestic abuse and related issues.
• Experience of working with people from diverse backgrounds who have experienced a range of social/personal difficulties, communicating effectively and sensitively, and working within a trauma informed way.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong professional relationships with clients to support and empower clients.
• Initiate timely contact with clients and explain the DASO Service, share the Privacy Notice and seek consent for engagement with the Service.
• Provide clients with information about the programme that the person on probation is attending, ensuring compliance with relevant disclosure guidance.
• Request feedback from clients at regular intervals throughout the intervention.
• Carry out safeguarding children and safeguarding adult duties in accordance with the HMPPS statutory responsibilities and agency policies.
• Assess the safety of home visiting using available information on the person on probation.
• Identify and assess the safety risks and needs of the client to promote safety for clients, children, and dependants.
• Refer, liaise and signpost to local support organisations and multi-agency forums, signing off on DASH risk assessments and safety plans.
• Maintain accurate case records and prepare client reports for Probation Practitioners.
• Develop relationships with local networks to enable effective support and referrals.
• Ensure information relating to risks to a client’s safety is shared promptly with the Probation Practitioner and other agencies.
• Support the Programme Manager in delivering presentations and onboarding new post holders.
