Job summary

Groundworks New Mexico is seeking a dedicated housing advocate and case manager to support survivors of domestic violence. You will help access emergency shelter, secure stable housing, and connect clients with legal, immigration, educational, financial, and mental health resources.

The role requires bilingual English-Spanish communication, a related degree or equivalent experience, and a commitment to empowering survivors toward safety and self-sufficiency.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent coursework related to the field and a minimum of one year of related experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent with three years of related work experience, at least two of which are directly related
  • Bilingual English-Spanish, written and verbal required

Responsibilities

  • Provide case management and housing advocacy for survivors of domestic violence and helps access emergency shelter and community resources
  • Secure and maintain safe, stable housing and navigate legal, immigration, educational, financial, and mental health supports
  • Assess program eligibility, coordinate and monitor services, document client progress, and collaborate with internal teams and community partners
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention using established crisis-response methods and protocols
  • Facilitate access to resources and assist housing clients in finding, securing, and maintaining permanent housing
  • Conduct housing inspections and collaborate with the legal team on pro se cases such as orders of protection, divorce, custody, and/or child support

Job description

Provide case management and housing advocacy for survivors of domestic violence. Helps access emergency shelter and community resources; secure and maintain safe, stable housing; and navigate legal, immigration, educational, financial, and mental health supports; assess program eligibility, coordinates and monitors services, documents client progress, and collaborates with internal teams and community partners to support each survivor’s safety, healing, self-sufficiency, and long-term stability.

Additional Areas of Responsibility

Provide immediate crisis intervention using established crisis-response methods and protocols; Facilitate access to resources; Assist housing clients in finding, securing, and maintaining permanent housing to their personal service plans; Conduct housing inspections; Collaborate with the legal team, with pro se legal cases (e.g., orders of protection, divorce, custody, and/or child support), among other duties as assigned.
