Job summary

Albemarle County is seeking a dedicated In-Home Services caseworker to partner with families using strengths-based, trauma-informed practice. You will develop family-specific plans, coordinate with schools and courts, and provide after-hours on-call coverage to safeguard children.

The role requires a bachelor’s in Human Services (MSW preferred), excellent communication, and ability to navigate federal/state regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field (or equivalent experience).
• MSW or related master’s degree preferred for advancement.
• Experience with trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement family-specific psychosocial case plans.
• Coordinate services with schools, courts, and community providers.
• Provide clinical case management using family-systems approaches.
• Engage natural supports and conduct home visits and team meetings.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary and interagency teams.
• Maintain thorough, confidential case records and comply with laws and funding requirements.
• Provide after-hours and weekend on-call coverage for emergencies.
