Job summary

County of Albemarle's Department of Social Services seeks a Family Preservation Services Worker to partner with families and protect children. You will conduct home visits, develop family-centered case plans, and coordinate with schools, courts, and community partners to support safety and permanency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field with two years of related experience.
• Willingness to drive and travel occasionally overnight.
• Ability to work with diverse families and communities.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed and family-centered practices.

Responsibilities

• Partner with families to develop and implement psychosocial case plans to improve child safety and permanency.
• Provide clinical case management and family engagement using multi-disciplinary approaches.
• Collaborate with schools, courts, and community partners through home visits and team meetings.
• Maintain thorough case records and ensure compliance with laws and funding requirements.
• Provide after-hours on-call coverage for emergencies involving children.
