Job summary

Albemarle County is seeking an In-Home Services caseworker to provide responsible, equitable, and professional support in a team environment. The role uses strengths-based and trauma-informed practices to partner with families facing child welfare challenges, aiming to prevent foster care and promote safe, stable environments.

Responsibilities include developing family-specific plans, accessing resources, coordinating with schools and courts, and providing after-hours coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum a bachelor's degree in a Human Services field or equivalent with two years of related experience.
• Possession of a BSW degree, MSW or related master’s degree and/or Virginia Social Work license preferred.
• Experience in the assigned program area and completion of required training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement family-specific psychosocial case plans to increase child safety.
• Assist families in accessing resources and conducting assessments from a strengths-based perspective.
• Provide clinical case management applying family-systems models to strengthen families.
• Engage natural supports and coordinate with schools, courts, and providers.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary teams and attend court interventions as needed.
