Job summary

State of Nebraska Health & Human Services in Beatrice, NE invites applications for the Child and Family Services Specialist (CFSS). You will perform trauma‑informed case management, home visits, and advocacy to promote safety and permanency for children involved with the child welfare system.

You will work with families, community partners, and legal personnel to support outcomes, while applying family‑centered practices and ensuring culturally responsive care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field; final-semester candidates considered.
• Experience in child welfare or case management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a case manager for families referred to DHHS.
• Conduct home visits and comprehensive safety assessments.
• Advocate for the well‑being of children and families while respecting diversity.
• Collaborate with legal system and partners to support permanency goals.
• Utilize SDM tools to inform safety planning and decisions.
• Write timely, accurate documentation for internal and legal use.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, human development, mental health care, education, criminal justice, or other related fields
