Job summary

Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is seeking compassionate individuals for the Child and Family Services Specialist (CFSS) in Columbus, NE. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field; final-semester candidates may apply.
• Experience in child welfare or case management preferred.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches and cultural competency desired.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a case manager for families referred to DHHS.
• Conduct home visits and safety assessments in diverse settings.
• Advocate for child and family well-being while respecting diversity.
• Collaborate with legal system and community partners to support permanency goals.
• Utilize SDM tools to inform safety planning and decisions.
• Document accurately for internal and legal use.
• Connect families to formal services and supports.
