RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Counselor - Domestic Violence Advocate at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, NJ. This part-time, day-shift role offers an hourly wage range of $30.00-$36.82 and supports survivors through crisis intervention, safety planning, and coordinated community referrals.

You will work within the Grant - DYFS Safe House, assist case workers, answer hotline calls, manage on-site operations, and maintain confidential records while upholding trauma-informed,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or 3+ years in domestic violence field.
• 40-hour Domestic Violence Training preferred (or within 6 months of hire).
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively and independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate crisis intervention and individual support counseling to assist victims of domestic violence.
• Assist clients with comprehensive service planning and tailored safety plans for victims and their children.
• Support Family Justice Center workflows by assisting Case Workers with client cases and managing onsite operations.
• Answer hotline calls to provide critical resources, information, and immediate supportive referrals.
• Connect clients to the community by referring them to on-site or external community partners.
• Transport clients safely to essential social service agencies, including Welfare offices, court, or police stations.
• Maintain accurate, thorough, and highly confidential records in compliance with program standards.
• Represent the organization by speaking clearly, concisely, and confidently during community presentations.
• Execute adjacent duties as assigned by the Director or Coordinator to support the overall mission of the facility.
