Job summary

JERSEY BATTERED WOMENS SERVICE INC seeks a caring counselor to join ourAdult Counseling Program, Children’s Program, and/or Trauma Focused CBT to support survivors of domestic violence. This role requires collaboration with clients and team members in a compassionate, trauma-informed setting.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s in social work or related field, possess an LSW or LAC, and bring at least 2 years of counseling experience with trauma survivors. Bilingual English/Spanish is a MUST.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social work or related field.
  • LSW or LAC preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience counseling trauma survivors.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Individual, family, and/or group counseling.
  • Case management and advocacy.
  • Conduct intakes and assessments.
  • Complete documentation as required by the program needs.
  • Work collaboratively and flexibly with clients and team members.

Job Description

JBWS is looking for a caring compassionate individual to join our amazing team. Our ideal candidate will work in our Adult Counseling Program, Children’s Program and/or Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Program to provide support and services to individual impacted by domestic violence.   • Bi-lingual English/Spanish speaking, reading and writing A MUST.
  • Understanding of the impact domestic violence and trauma on adults and children.
  • Ability to effectively and independently make decisions based on sound judgment.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Candidates with 40-hour domestic violence training preferred however candidates without training must complete 40-hours of domestic violence training upon hire.
Schedule Requirements
  • Full time – 35 hours per week with two evenings required.
Compensation And Benefits
  • Salary range between $55,000 and $60,000 annually, includes medical, dental, life, LTD, state disability and a comprehensive wellness program.
