Job summary

YWCA Union County in Elizabeth, NJ seeks a Part Time Bilingual Domestic Violence Counselor to oversee non-residential services for survivors. This 16-hour-per-week role offers a $24.00 hourly rate and reports to the Director of Community Support Services.

The position requires a Master's degree and 2+ years in domestic violence with strong bilingual communication skills. The counselor will provide counseling, advocacy, and referrals, coordinate trainings, and support program development across

Qualifications

• Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in domestic violence.
• Knowledge of domestic violence and trauma.
• Cultural competency in experience or education.
• Excellent verbal, written, and public speaking skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Provide individual counseling and group counseling to non-residential clients.
• Refer to YWCA programs and external services as appropriate.
• Complete intakes/exit interviews and safety planning.
• Provide client advocacy, referrals, and psycho-educational groups.
• Meet walk-in clients and cover various YWCA locations as needed.
• Update outreach materials and participate in trainings.
