Job summary

The Family Place in Dallas, TX is seeking a Counseling Student Intern to gain hands-on clinical experience providing trauma-informed, survivor-centered counseling under licensed supervision. You will conduct intake assessments, facilitate groups, and provide individual therapy to survivors of family or domestic violence.

This internship fulfills Master's-level field requirements and offers exposure to case management, documentation, and professional development within a mission-driven nonprofit

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Master's degree program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Counseling Psychology, or Clinical Social Work.
• Clear criminal background check and negative drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person intake assessments to establish safety plans, identify case management needs, advocacy needs, and readiness for therapeutic services.
• Provide weekly individual therapy to adult and/or youth survivors of violence.
• Facilitate psycho-education groups for victims of domestic violence.
• Work collaboratively to ensure appropriate case management for assigned caseload.
