Job summary

The Family Place in Dallas, TX seeks a Counseling Student Intern to gain hands-on experience delivering trauma-informed, survivor-centered counseling to youth and adults affected by domestic violence under licensed supervision.

You will conduct intake assessments, provide weekly individual therapy, facilitate psychoeducation groups, and collaborate with case managers while maintaining confidential records and hours toward master's clinical field placement requirements.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Master's degree program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Counseling Psychology, or Clinical Social Work.
• Clear criminal background check and negative drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person intake assessments to establish safety plans and identify case management needs and advocacy needs.
• Provide weekly individual therapy to adult and/or youth survivors of violence.
• Facilitate psycho-education groups for victims of domestic violence.
• Collaborate with case managers to ensure appropriate case management for assigned caseload and maintain accurate, confidential records.
