Job summary

The Family Place in Dallas, TX is seeking a Counseling Student Intern (LPC track) to provide trauma-informed, survivor-centered counseling to youth and adults who have experienced domestic violence under licensed supervision.

You will conduct intake assessments, provide weekly individual therapy, facilitate psychoeducation groups, assist with case management, and maintain accurate confidential records while documenting hours toward master's field placement requirements.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Master's degree program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Counseling Psychology, or Clinical Social Work.
• Clear criminal background check and negative drug screening.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with diverse clients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person intake assessments to establish safety plans, identify case management needs, advocacy needs, and readiness for therapeutic services.
• Provide weekly individual therapy to adult and/or youth survivors of violence.
• Facilitate psycho-education groups for victims of domestic violence.
• Work collaboratively to ensure appropriate case management for assigned caseload.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records and document hours per agency requirements.
