Job summary

The Center for Youth and Family Solutions (CYFS) is seeking a Community Outreach On-Call Advocate to support children, teens, adults, and families in crisis. You will build protective relationships, use trauma-informed strategies, and help clients meet goals that promote stability and permanency.

Flexibility in schedule supports service delivery around youth and family availability; DCFS background check is required and reliable vehicle is needed for community work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required or preferred.
• Experience in child welfare or related services is preferred.
• Completion of DCFS criminal background check and fingerprinting is required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must obtain an insured vehicle and have reliable transportation.
• At least three years of driving experience with a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Develop a supportive relationship with clients and assist children and families in addressing needs and meeting goals.
• Provide crisis intervention, stabilization, de-escalation, and conflict management with a trauma-informed, family-centered approach.
• Document all services delivered to track client progress and plan for achievement of established goals.
