Job summary

The Center for Youth and Family Solutions in Champaign, IL seeks a Community Outreach On-Call Advocate to build supportive relationships with clients and assist children and families in addressing needs to promote stability and permanency.

You will respond to crises with trauma-informed, family-centered interventions, document services, and coordinate with supervisors; flexible hours and on-call structure support work-life balance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in child welfare preferred.
• Must pass DCFS background check and fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

About the Position:

Develop a supportive relationship with clients and assist children and families in addressing needs and meeting goals with the overall objective of achieving solutions that promote stability and permanency.

A Typical Day as a Community Outreach On-Call Advocate:

• Work with children, teens, adults, and families who are experiencing crisis
• Provide positive intervention, stabilization, de-escalation, and conflict management using a trauma-informed and family centered approach.
• Document all services delivered to track client progress and plan for achievement of established goals.

Work Hours:

Schedule is flexible and non-traditional; based around the availability of youth and families served

Does the Following Apply to You?

• High School Diploma or GED
• Child Welfare Experience (preferred)

Additional Qualifications:

• Completion of DCFS criminal background check and fingerprinting
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Obtain an insured vehicle
• At least three years of driving experience with a valid driver's license
