Job summary

DESC is seeking a Clinical Support Specialist to work within an integrated care team and deliver coordinated clinical services to tenants. The role emphasizes case management, trauma-informed counseling, and collaboration with housing stabilization staff and external providers.

Qualified candidates will hold an AAC license in Washington or obtain it soon after hire, with experience serving homeless adults and knowledge of local service systems.

Qualifications

  • AAC license in WA state or ability to obtain soon after hire.
  • Clinical experience with homeless adults experiencing chronic alcoholism, mental illness, or substance use.
  • Knowledge of local homeless, mental health, and chemical dependency service systems.
  • Ability to communicate and work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work with clients displaying a wide range of behavior.
  • Commitment to cooperation and continuity across agency programs and respect for clients.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate engagement of tenants with culturally relevant strategies and build trust.
  • Develop and update an Integrated Service Plan in collaboration with tenants and staff.
  • Identify and coordinate case management elements with DESC or external providers.
  • Support tenants in maintaining safe living conditions and coordinating services.
  • Provide case management services not covered by other providers.
  • Maintain regular contact with tenants and ensure provision of services.
  • Document interactions per agency guidelines including logs and emails.
  • Meet contractual service and documentation obligations for the project.
  • Use trauma-informed approaches for crises and lease enforcement when needed.
  • Provide education and support to tenants for successful leaseholding.
