Job summary

Tennessee Department of Children's Services (DCS) is seeking a Training Officer to deliver comprehensive Pre-Service and specialty training for newly hired staff. The role requires trauma-informed care understanding and strong delivery skills across CPS, foster care, and juvenile justice domains.

The Training Officer will use Microsoft Teams and other platforms, collaborate with program leadership, and participate in simulation labs and case panel discussions.

Qualifications

• One year of direct child welfare field experience (e.g., case management, investigations, foster care).
• One year of experience in training delivery or staff development.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Teams and virtual training tools.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Pre-Service Training to new DCS employees.
• Facilitate Mentor Certification Programs.
• Proctor Pre-Service assessments and support evaluation processes.
• Participate in Case Panel Presentations and Simulation Lab activities.
• Provide web-based technical assistance and use Teams to support training.
• Collaborate with training team and leadership to ensure quality in content and delivery.
• Travel up to 75 miles each way; hybrid on-site and remote responsibilities.
