Job summary

North Slope Borough in Alaska seeks a Client Advocate II to oversee day-to-day care, provide trauma-informed counseling, and ensure a safe, therapeutic environment across residential shelters and outpatient programs. You will supervise client activities, document interactions, and collaborate with supervisors to tailor care.

This role requires flexibility, ability to transport clients, maintain confidentiality under 42 CFR and HIPAA, and comply with licensing and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED or combination of 12 years of education and work related experience.
• CPR and Basic First Aid Certification within 30 days and valid Alaska driver's license within probationary period.
• Ability to obtain background check and maintain confidentiality under 42 CFR & HIPAA.
• Must be 21+ and able to lift 35–50 pounds regularly.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred for childcare staff as per grant requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides trauma informed care and counseling to clients within scope of authority.
• Maintains a calm, safe environment and follows program structure.
• Documents client interactions and admissions/discharges per policy.
• Collaborates with supervisors and other professionals for continued care.
• Transports clients to appointments and participates in community outreach.
• Performs housekeeping and meal preparation as outlined by schedule.
