Job summary

FosterAdoptConnect is seeking a Behavioral Interventionist to work with children facing behavioral health challenges, providing trauma-informed support and skill-building. The role involves coaching, role-modeling, and implementing individualized plans with ongoing supervision, typically 3–5 sessions per week in afternoons/evenings/weekends.

The position requires safety handling capability, reliable transportation, and a commitment to flexible hours, including travel within the Kansas area.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree, preferred.
• Experience working with elevated behavioral needs, preferred.
• Must be willing and able to perform safety holds on at-risk clients after paid training.
• Must be able to navigate stairs, climb, twist, bend, and lift up to 100 pounds.
• Must have smartphone (Android/iPhone) and laptop/computer for work.
• Willing to commute up to 30 miles to a client’s home.
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Maintain First Aid/CPR and CPI Certifications

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with children on neurodevelopmental activities to build healthier patterns.
• Support emotional regulation and independence through coaching and redirection.
• Follow individualized behavioral plans with ongoing training and supervision.
• Create engaging activities based on each child’s interests and goals, typically 3–5 times per week after school hours.
• Support families and adhere to routines and structures while modeling positive behavioral strategies.
