Job summary

FosterAdopt Connect in Kansas is seeking Behavioral Interventionists to work one-on-one with children facing mental and behavioral health challenges, often with histories of trauma, abuse, or neglect. You will use trauma-informed approaches to support daily living skills and emotional regulation.

Role involves implementing individualized behavioral plans, ongoing training, and supervision, with engaging activities tailored to each child’s interests; typically 3–5 sessions weekly in afternoons,

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience working with elevated behavioral needs preferred.
• Willing to perform safety holds on clients at risk, with proper training.
• Must be able to navigate stairs and lift up to 100 pounds.
• Must have smartphone and laptop/computer for work.
• Willing to commute up to 30 miles to a client’s home.
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance and reliable transportation.
• Maintain First Aid/CPR and CPICertifications.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with children on neurodevelopmental activities to support emotional regulation and independence.
• Follow individualized behavioral plans with ongoing training and supervision.
• Create engaging activities based on each child’s interests and goals, typically 3–5 times per week in afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
• Help children build healthy relationships and improve communication, while adhering to family routines and structures.
