Job summary

Central Arizona Shelter Services, Inc. is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to provide direct care and support to clients in outpatient behavioral health programs.

The role supports treatment plans, crisis interventions, and coordination with a multidisciplinary team to promote recovery and whole-person wellness. The BHT will document services in the EHR, assist with assessments and planning, and help clients access housing, health care, and community resources.

Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of education and experience meeting CASS Program Policies and Procedure standards for BHT.
• Knowledge of behavioral health interventions, treatment modalities, and trauma-informed care practices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse populations.
• Proficiency in electronic medical records and documentation requirements.
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively in crisis situations.
• Commitment to continuous learning, training, and professional development.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct behavioral health services, including skill-building, psychoeducation, group facilitation, and supportive case management.
• Document all services and client interactions in the EHR in a timely and accurate manner.
• Support clients in navigating systems of care, including primary health, housing, social services, and peer supports.
• Assist with assessments, treatment planning, and coordination of care as directed by licensed or supervisory staff.
• Ensure client safety and well-being by following crisis intervention protocols and emergency procedures.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and payer standards.
• Participate in team meetings, trainings, and clinical supervision sessions.
• Uphold HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
• Provide support to Whole Health initiatives, including collection of SDOH data and coordination with community resources.
• Collaborate with internal staff, external providers, and community partners to ensure continuity of care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
