Job summary

UNC Health’s Surgical Trauma Critical Care Unit is seeking a Nursing Assistant I (Per Diem) to care for patients in a fast-paced, 12-hour shift environment. The role involves assisting with procedures, patient transport, vital signs, and daily living activities under RN or physician supervision.

Shifts include days and nights with weekend/holiday rotation, on-site in Chapel Hill, NC. The position requires NC Nursing Assistant I licensure, BLS certification, and about 6 months of nursing

Qualifications

• Fluent in verbal and written English required.
• Basic computer skills expected for patient records and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures.
• Provide direct patient care under supervision of a nurse or physician.
• Record patient information and report significant changes promptly.
