Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill, NC seeks an experienced Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to join the interdisciplinary health care team. The APP provides high-quality, cost-effective care within the approved scope of practice under a supervising physician, reflecting our mission, vision, and values.

Responsibilities include clinical assessment, diagnostic interpretation, treatment planning, patient education, and leadership in quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program.
• Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider in North Carolina.
• Board certification if required by the Department; DEA.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient histories, conduct examinations, interpret tests, develop differential diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding conditions and follow-up.
• Mentor and teach physicians, housestaff, nursing staff, and students as needed.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
• Lead or participate in quality improvement projects and protocol development.
