Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring an Emergency Department Technician for the on-site 7:00 PM–7:00 AM night shift in Norfolk, VA. The role supports physicians and nurses with care plans and patient procedures in a high-acuity ED environment.

Applicants must have a High School Diploma or equivalent, EMT-B or MMAC credentials, or be enrolled in a clinical program. BLS is required within 90 days of hire; prior ED experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• EMT-B certification or military corps school/MMAC or active clinical program enrollment is required.
• Past ED or clinical experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and nurses in implementing care plans for emergency patients.
• Perform basic patient procedures and treatments under supervision.
• Complete required de-escalation training within 15 days of hire; obtain BLS within 90 days.
