Job summary

Sentara Health in Norfolk, VA is hiring an Emergency Department Technician to join our team on-site at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital Emergency Department. This part-time, night-shift role supports physicians and nurses in delivering care to emergency patients. The job requires a High School diploma, EMT-B or equivalent, and completion of BLS within 90 days.

Candidates with prior ED or clinical experience are encouraged. We offer competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Clinical experience in an ED or acute care setting.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• De-escalation training within 15 days of hire.
• EMT-B certification or equivalent at time of hire is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians, advanced practitioners, or nurses in implementing plans of care for ED patients.
• Perform patient procedures and treatments under supervision.
• Complete de-escalation training within 15 days of hire and BLS within 90 days.
