Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque is seeking a Trauma Coordinator for the Emergency Department to lead the hospital's trauma program, education, and quality initiatives. This role partners with physicians, EMS, and nursing to ensure high standards of trauma care across the system.

The ideal candidate will have RN licensure in Iowa (or a compact license), a BSN, and TNCC Instructor certification, with at least 2 years of trauma/critical care nursing experience and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• RN license in Iowa or a compact license is required.
• BSN degree required.
• TNCC Instructor certification or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Current nursing certification is required.
• Minimum of 2 years trauma/critical care nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops multidisciplinary trauma educational programs.
• Organizes Trauma Committee meetings with the Trauma Program Medical Director.
• Teaches TNCC and acts as TNCC course director.
• Coordinates the trauma registry and quality improvement activities.
• Liaises between Mercy One Dubuque and EMS to strengthen collaboration.
• Assists ED scheduling and payroll as needed.
