Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center is seeking a Trauma Coordinator for the Emergency Department. The role oversees trauma program development, education, and quality improvement, working closely with the Trauma Program Medical Director to advance patient care and EMS collaboration.

The ideal candidate is an RN with Iowa compact license or IA license, BSN, TNCC instructor, and 2+ years in trauma/critical care, with preferred EMS exposure.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Iowa or a compact license recognized by the state.
• BSN required.
• TNCC Instructor certification (or obtain within 1 year of hire).
• Nursing certification (or obtain within 1 year of hire).
• Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter.
• Minimum of 2 years trauma/critical care nursing experience.
• EMS experience desired.

• Maintains the trauma registry and assists with performance improvement activities.
• Teaches TNCC and coordinates pediatric EMS-related education as needed.
