University Hospitals is seeking a Trauma Registrar to ensure accurate and accessible trauma data for the UH CMC Adult Trauma Center and other UH system hospitals. You will abstract charts, code injuries, and maintain the trauma registry to support reporting to the Ohio Trauma Registry and NTDB.

The role requires data accuracy, knowledge of medical terminology, and the ability to work with EMR systems; thrombosis and PHI handling policies apply.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Health Information Management or equivalent with trauma registry experience.
• Experience with medical records, chart abstraction, ICD-9/10 coding, data entry and trauma registry methodology.
• Preferred RHIT or CSTR credentials; experience with EMR systems is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Collects and maintains trauma registry data, abstracts charts, applies proper codes, and prepares registry reports.
• Serves as subject matter expert to support research and quality initiatives for the trauma center.
• Prepares quarterly and annual data submissions to state (Ohio Trauma Registry) and national databases (NTDB).
• Ensures compliance with trauma regulations and reporting requirements; supports event coordination and billing tracking.
