Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL is seeking a RN to join the Trauma Recovery Unit (TRU). You'll apply the nursing process to care for trauma, orthopaedic, and general surgery patients on a 20-bed unit led by APPs, with a focus on family-centered care and efficient discharge.

Flexible full-time/part-time AM and PM shifts, including weekends, are available. The role emphasizes collaboration with physicians, nurses, and the care team to promote health, prevent illness, and support patient comfort.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as an RN by the Alabama Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to provide care, health promotion, and illness prevention.
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, and the care team to ensure safe, cost-effective patient care.
• Deliver patient care with family involvement and support discharge planning.
