Job summary

Harborview Medical Center seeks a Trauma Care Nurse Coordinator (RN) to support care coordination and drive quality in one of the region's leading trauma programs. The role emphasizes evidence-based trauma practice, multidisciplinary collaboration, and patient safety.

Responsibilities include maintaining the trauma registry, QA/QI participation, and coordinating with clinicians to ensure timely communication and high-quality outcomes. Requires WA RN license and 5+ years in trauma/acute care.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program and hold a WA RN license (current or eligible).
• Five or more years of professional nursing experience, preferably in trauma, general surgery, critical/acute care, or emergency services.
• Equivalent education/experience may substitute for minimum qualifications where allowed by law.

Responsibilities

• Support the continuum of trauma patient care and advocate for evidence-based trauma practice guidelines, protocols, and standards of care.
• Collaborate with inpatient trauma clinicians, the Trauma Registry, and the Quality Improvement (QI) team to monitor care and identify opportunities to improve quality and outcomes.
• Conduct concurrent patient monitoring and chart review to identify gaps in care and opportunities for improvement.
• Coordinate care and implement corrective measures to support patients along expected care pathways and ensure timely communication of outcomes.
• Perform data abstraction and entry into the Trauma Registry and contribute to QA and process improvement initiatives.
